what is a proxy?

proxy isn't what i've heard it called but it's not something i'm personally unfamiliar with.

there's things out there that change you, once you know about them. once they've touched you. they crawl in the nice little shadows of your brain and live there. set up shop. maybe you just get nightmares. maybe you just get sick. if you're the right kind of person, i guess, this happens.

but this is the operator's realm of influence. i don't know how he works well enough to say more.
