As for his mind, that is slightly more complicated. I cannot tell you what his ultimate goal is as he seems to be frantically trying to decipher that himself. However I can say with certainty he has no plans on fatally sabotaging the ship or killing anyone therein.

Of course he's proven he's capable of inflicting harm should anyone interfere, but death is not a desired outcome of this.
